March 2021 Update

It feels like it was Valentine's day just a week ago, yet, it's April now. Huh?? March was filled with a lot of emotional ups and downs, and me flipping back and forth between which project I wanted to focus on for my Camp NaNoWriMo. If you've been keeping up with these updates, you probably have a good idea of how indecisive I can be by this point.

My goal for this month was to create an outline for whichever project I intended to do Camp NaNo with and to continue with my stream schedule. I did create an edited/updated outline for Camp NaNoWriMo, which I have ultimately decided to continue the editing/rewriting process of Black Hole Son, which is likely at this rate to become my thesis. It's definitely something I'm excited to get back to taking another stab at. These characters (in one way or another) have been swirling around my head for years.

Goal(s) for April

For April I would like to get 25k into my rewrite for Black Hole Son. Because a lot of my rewrite involves writing a completely new first act and the first half of the second act, I want to focus on that first before rewriting what I already have. I anticipate that rewriting what I already have will go more smoothly at that point and I'll actually have a word count that is appropriate for an adult psychological thriller. It's a pretty simple goal if I say so myself, mainly because I start a new job in April and will need to find the balance between that, school, streaming, and writing!

Featured Creator/Business of the Month

When I decided to start doing this specific little section, I immediately knew who I wanted to feature first, hands down, without a doubt. Haile, otherwise known as @MissAlppy_Art, is an artist who I have been following for over a year at this point in writing. Their spectacular style is unique, entrancing, and ethereal like a celestial event: a shooting star in dawn or dusk. The amount of detail in each piece always has my jaw dropped in awe as I try to notice all the different patterns, textures, and linework involved. They have a fantastic sense of character design as demonstrated through their ocs, and the way they draw other people's characters feels reverent to the original creation. I always look forward to their posts and think y'all could check them out and give them some love! You can find them on Twitter, Instagram, Ko-fi (where you can commission them!), and Etsy.

I hope y'all have had a safe and fantastic March! If you're participating in Camp NaNoWriMo, I wish you all the luck in the world! I'll likely be posting about it on my Twitter and my Instagram.
